kayas, mahki floral
Inspired by ancestor pieces and the motifs found in the 'long ago' ones, this design is a celebration of antique glass beads, hometanned moosehide, and my ancestors. The center highlights the swirl seen in older pieces that has become a new favorite technique.
Beaded and backed with traditional hometanned moosehide, these mahki (large) beauties are 2” wide and 2.25 “ long (not including the hooks) and their smoke scent is heavenly.
Edge beads are 24 kt gold plate with hooks that are 24 kt gold filled.
